American Ginseng Dosage December 16, 2018 15:41
There are four main ways to take American Ginseng:
1. Tea Soup
Use thin slices of American Ginseng for brewing on the stove-top. Cut thin and then cooked at a high temperature, approx. 195*F, for at least one hour.
A whole American Ginseng root or slices are added to a bottle of spirits. Place in a cool dark place where it must be shaken several times a week for over a month before it is ready for drinking.
Fresh powder or encapsulated, taken either directly in the mouth or in a small 2-4 oz cup of lukewarm water, gently whisked for a few seconds.
Liquids may be taken sub-lingually for maximum absorption or added to a small amount of cool water and slowly sipped so that the extract is easier to take
How to take American Ginseng
American Ginseng works best when taken with food or snacks.
Each dosage is different, depending on the supplement preparation and absorption methods:
Tea Soup = 2 – 6 grams
A fun and great tasting sweet tea in which high heating breaks cell walls and activates polysaccharides while preparing ginsenosides for absorption.
Spirits = 1 ounce 1-3 times a day, taken as a shot
Alcohol preservation saves time, is mild on the system, and makes it easier to include American Ginseng in the diet for its general health promoting benefits.
Powder = 500 – 3,000 milligrams
A very gentle way to add ginseng to the diet where its main effects will be on soothing the stomach and intestines, although it does not have many of the building tonic effects due to poor preparation and absorption of other constituents.
Liquid = 500 – 3,000 milligrams
Most potent with a full-spectrum of benefits while initiating immediate effects; tincture by-passes the digestive system and delivers a portion of the active preserved constituents directly into bloodstream.
Benefits with tonics take time; taking enough consistently rewards health.
