Liquids may be taken sub-lingually for maximum absorption or added to a small amount of cool water and slowly sipped so that the extract is easier to take.
How to take Astragalus Root
Astragalus Root is a digestive energy tonic so that it is best taken with meals and other supplements to increase absorption of nutrition. Probiotics will help the stomach absorb many of the difficult-to-digest constituents.
Each dosage is different, depending on the supplement preparation and absorption methods:
Tea Soup = 5 – 18 grams
Brews a yellowish broth that is taken daily with meals for all benefits. Sweet, grassy, and pleasant tasting. Prolonged heating breaks cell walls and activates polysaccharides and prepares them for absorption.
Spirits = 1 ounce 1-3 times a day taken as a shot
Alcohol extraction preserves a low-to-moderate potency go-to supplement for digestive benefits; taken during meals to increase assimilation of protein foods and derive more stamina benefit.
Powder = 2,000 – 6,000 milligrams
An easy way to take Astragalus, but because of the high amount of difficult-to-digest constituents which may cause digestive upset, powder is added directly to boiled hot water and quickly whisked, let set 5-10 minutes. Do not drink the powder.
Liquid = 1,000 – 3,000 milligrams
Most potent and full-spectrum of benefits while initiating immediate effects; tincture by-passes the digestive system and delivers a portion of the active preserved constituents directly into bloodstream.
Benefits with tonics take time; taking enough consistently rewards health.
