Panax Ginseng Dosage December 09, 2018 17:43
How much ginseng is taken at one time and throughout the day will have an effect on how Panax Ginseng works.
- Smaller doses of ginseng are mostly stimulating and energizing and lacking in the greater tonic benefits.
- Larger doses of Panax ginseng are more building-up to the various bodily systems.
There are four main ways to take Panax ginseng:
1. Tea Soup
Thin slices are prepared: freshly cut from the dried and prepared steamed red root and then cooked on the stove top at a high temperature, approx. 195*F, for at least one hour.
Whole ginseng roots or slices are added to a bottle of spirits and placed in a cool dark place. It is then shaken several times a week for over a month before drinking.
Fresh powder or encapsulated, taken either directly in the mouth or in a small 2-4 oz cup of lukewarm water, gently whisked for a few seconds.
Liquids may be taken sub-lingually for maximum absorption or added to a small amount of cool water and slowly sipped so that the extract is easier to take
How to take Panax ginseng
Panax ginseng works best when taken with complete meals; it is enhanced by increased digestion and it enhances absorption of concurrent nutrition found in food.
Each dosage is different, depending on the supplement preparation and absorption methods:
Tea Soup = 3 – 9 grams
Traditional way of preparation. Very yummy sweet tea in which the heating breaks cell walls and activates polysaccharides and prepares ginsenosides for absorption.
Spirits = 1 ounce 1-3 times a day taken as a shot
Alcohol extraction is a great way to preserve and have a low-to-moderate potency go-to supplement that is mild in action. Small long-term tonic benefit.
Powder = 500 – 3,000 milligrams
A quick and easy way to get the energy benefits, but does not allow for polysaccharide and ginsenoside activation. May cause digestive upset.
Liquid = 500 – 3,000 milligrams
Most potent and full-spectrum of benefits while initiating immediate effects; tincture by-passes the digestive system and delivers a portion of the active preserved constituents directly into bloodstream.
Benefits with tonics take time; taking enough consistently rewards health.
