What's the Difference Between Health and Disease?

Health and disease are two important terms that easily get mixed up when considering dietary supplements, since supplements are regulated by the FDA as food not to treat, cure, mitigate or prevent disease.
Dietary supplements support healthy mental and physical performance. Healthy performance is the proper functioning of organs, glands and other tissues and fluids in the body, like bone, muscle and blood.
In contrast, a disease diagnoses, given to someone by a medical health-care professional, is a dysfunction of a process in the body. When one has a dysfunction of any of these bodily parts they may be diagnosed with a disease which will then require treatment by the medical health-care establishment.
Joke: so what's the best way to prevent getting a disease? Don't get a disease diagnoses from your doctor!
To make an important point, one cannot self-diagnose and they cannot self-treat, they must be diagnosed with a disease that must be treated only by a health professional with drugs and procedures.
Foods and dietary supplements are consumed to promote healthy performance of any tissue, gland and organ in the body. Although we may have an eye disease, consuming carotenoids and Vitamin A for eye health doesn't treat the eye disease, carotenoids and Vitamin A work to promote healthy eye performance ‡.
Nutritional biochemistry is how the things that make up food and supplements, such as amino acids, fats, vitamins, minerals and other unique constituents promote healthy performance.
Epigenetics is the process of healthy gene expression of one's genetic DNA coding. Gene expression determines the functioning of the body. Genetic coding may be inherited to some degree, but it is also greatly affected by nutritional biochemistry which will activate DNA gene expression.
Drugs are man-made chemicals that treat disease or mask the symptoms of dysfunction in the body, they don't promote healthy performance and they don't activate gene expression, which are accomplished through nutritional biochemistry.
One may easily choose foods and dietary supplements to move towards health and build up the body by promoting healthy functioning and performance and this may be done by focusing on how the various aspect of nutrition work.
